I just started another folder in my Journal file and I am usually a month ahead with that.  I did manage to start for July 2012.  I will finish them both when I have a moment tonight.

I saw Mom for an hour with Liz.  I had her sign some checks and will get them mailed as I go to Debra’s.  Liz and I need to go over the rest of her bills tonight.  For Some reason every time she tells us where to find her online banking and accounts I get agitated she has it so cluttered its ridiculous!  I told her I paid for the trip and before Dave and Rose.  She didn’t miss a beat.  She asked me about my cards.

Liz invited me for dinner tonight so when I finish with Debra I am going to her house and then we will come back home to take care of the bills.  Tomorrow I need to bring the English Tea bags.

I started coughing today and now my throat is bothering me.  I hope I am not coming down with something. Oh one of the contagious bacterial infections Mom has is C-Dif.  Dottie-Mom had back in the winter.  It just cleared up this past week.

For most of the afternoon I spent opening the post office mail and surfing the net.  We also had cake for Annette.  I will be cleaning up soon for the night.  I am getting tired but that whole bill thing really needs to be taken care of.

There are reports of severe thunderstorms between three and eight tonight.

She reminded us where to look for her check book and to see what was paid as far as bills but I tried to look at one check book and it was so confusing.  I need to ask her or at least bring it to her to show her.  Liz offered to help but I told her I could do it.   I feel that I am definitely missing something.

I left the house after 9:30 making stops to neighbors (I just wasn’t up to going to bingo) I talked with Kim and Don and had some puppy loving from Lilly.  I updated both of them on Mom’s status.

It was well after 10:15 when I got there and the troops were in full bingo mode.  Ryan was calling the numbers, Jillian, Nicole (and Hanna?) were there serving and helping out.  There were at least 16 players today.

After bingo I came home and hung out.   I have the sprinkler watering some of the plants outside, and watching Pirates of theCaribbean.  I opened Mom’s mail trying to sort the stuff will have to look at it again. 

Around 1:30 started getting ready for Dave’s Party.  He had called me earlier to say that Rose and her family wouldn’t be getting there until 4 and that I had a choice to either come at 2 or wait until Rose and family arrive.  I went earlier. 

When I got there I hung out at the pool with Dave and Jim (both Jims)  and their neighbors.  I never knew Jim was a smoker (I think he is a once in a blue Moon smoker).  For the next several hours we talked, went to the store and ate. 

After the party I came home.  I called Liz a couple of times this afternoon before Liz got to the hospital.  One to ask her if she could ask Mom where else the other bank account/checkbook was-didn’t have to because I found it while we were talking.  I called again around 6 or so to see how Mom was doing.  Mom was sleeping and of course not eating.  Liz told me I didn’t have to come tonight so I didn’t.  I will fill out the checks for Mom to sign tomorrow and bring them to her.

Last but not least 84 years ago today My father was born inNorwalk CT.  Happy Birthday Dad!  I miss you.

 It just about that time when I discovered that the roommate had told me that Mom had a rough night (not given meds when she wanted them) so as I was leaving I called Liz.  Well just about a half an hour after that Mom was calling Liz upset accusing her of abusing and arguing with me about a  dress and posting something on Facebook.   

When Liz got there she talked with the nursing staff and asked them to not ask Mom if she needs meds but to give them every three hours whether or not she needs it.  Apparently she had to have a tube put down her throat and all fluids now taken away because it was causing a problem with a blockage and gas.  The combination of the pain, and medications were basically making Mom slightly hallucinating.

Liz spent most of the time there but I was spending a lot of time here screaming and carrying on to the point where three neighbors came half way to the door.  I apologized to them but they seem to understand.    At one point Liz was telling me all this and she said well I will tell Mom we are arguing.  I said please don’t telling her that would only acerbate things.  Liz ended up not getting to the memorial.

As Liz was explaining this several times over after she arrived at the restaurant that between the meds and hearing only parts of conversation her thinking and comprehension was all mixed up. 

As I was telling everyone what had happened for me over the last few days.  Bob, Chuck, Judy and Donna were also trying to tell me that it would be better to respond to Mom with “yes Mom” to death.  Whether it had to do with emails, or information by phones or anything she asked.

I was getting frustrated because as usual I didn’t think they were listening.  When Liz called me later when I got home she reviewed and urged me to think about what they were saying they all loved their moms and never disrespected them.  They all understand what I am feeling but they knew I was upset and frustrated.

On top of all that aggravation the internet at home is not working and hasn’t been since 2 pm.  I had been on Mom’s answering a few of her emails and then I noticed one of the lights on the DSL tower was out.  Usually when that happens Mom has to unhook the wires and put them back in.  Well I am afraid to do that but I check to see they were not pulled out.  I also thought it would reset itself.  It hasn’t.  I even turned off Mom’s tower.  (I did that at Liz’s suggestion) Now it is at the log in window and I am having a devil of a time trying to remember Mom’s password.  I know of only one other person having Internet problems and that was Kim.  I called Mike & Roberta (for other reasons) I called M. V Brown.  They were not having problems.  I am going to have to ask Don next door (that’s if he is even going to talk to me-I am sure he could hear me carrying on). IF he could help me but he may not be able to.   I may have to call Mike and Tessa back to see if they could help.  I can’t very well ask Mom because she is mired in all that stuff.  I know that we shouldn’t have problems with connectivity every few months.  I am guessing the latest has to do with the heat wave.  I don’t think I pulled anything out of the “sockets”. 

Blogger continues to be off line since Wednesday.  I am thinking of posting to Kate’s Insights until its back up.  Livejournal seems to be working just fine so no problems there although they did some things to their navigation bar.  It looks pretty cool.

Mom took off for her Bridges meeting before 8 and I have been watching a little bit of TV.  I need to get back to cleaning or something before I have to leave at 11:30 for the WW meeting.

I found out yesterday another of my four legged God children passed away last week.  Don stopped by yesterday because the mail carrier left a piece of mail for Mom in Don’s box and he told me Lucy died early last week.  All that’s left is Wyatt.

Something happened to our new neighbors last night.  One of them was taken out by stretcher and taken to the hospital.  It was around 10 or so the street was filled with Fire, ambulance, police vehicles.   All we know is one wasn’t feeling well.

Well I am going to do some laundry and then clearing out some more drawers and get rid of the papers.

As I arrived I had to pick up one of the baskets from the floor.  It had fallen over at a traffic light.  I wanted it to look perfect.  The kids came to the car an each took one.  As we were approaching the house (Liz wanted us inside for a bit) they each thanked me on their own without prompting from grandma.  Nelson and Liz also gave them candy as well.  They were going to be picking Stephanie (their Mother up from the train station).  The kids got to play outside with the neighborhood boys. 

After the visit I picked up the meds and then headed home. Mom was up by then and was wondering what I was doing.  I explained to her that I have off and that I went to see the kids.

I called Jane today to invite her to dinner Sunday but she called me back and thanked me but that she would be going up to her brother’s house in Pembroke.  She is going up with Chris and Nancy (her other brother).

Mom wants me to do things around here.  She is out shopping for the Sunday dinner.  She would like my help too.

I got a call from the Arthritis andOsteoporosisCenterto inform me that Dr. V Martin is no longer with the practice.  My new doctor will be Dr. Janet Becker.  I have no idea the circumstance behind it all but I should be getting a letter soon.

I spent some time throwing out the pen pal stuff.  I decided not to record each individual like I did.  I need to move along with the piles anyway.  If there are pen pal files or emails then I will save them but the hard copies will be tossed.

My knee has been bothering me all day today. I have already taken the Tramadol, the plaquenil and I am not sure I want to take the Meloxicam just yet.  I will take the Tylenol of it persists.

Mom came home from shopping just before 3.  We rushed emptying the groceries and then went to the bank and to the service.  I don’t know what it is but every time Amazing Grace is played I start to get teary eyed.  I want to say its beautiful.

Mom’s ears seem to be clogging today and it makes it harder for her to hear even more than normal.  She was telling me about the menu for Sunday.  She is going to make the fresh ham, broccoli, creamed cauliflower, asparagus, and I suspect seafood for those of us (read: Diane) who don’t eat meat.  Rogier (http://www.facebook.com/#!/rogierdeboer) will be joining us it seems.  I can’t wait to see them.  He is so awesome to Diane and that makes me feel great.

Well I am going to go through the mound of papers and binders and get some headway of this.

 First thing this morning those of us who use the garages and parking lots were sent an email in regards to Monday’s Commencement.  That’s right Yale University is holding commencement on Monday.  Anyway, they are expecting 1,200 additional visitors for that day.  So The university is asking those of us who having parking spaces either in the garages or parking lots find alternative solutions and leave spaces for a first come first serve for the guests.  Some if not all are saying screw that.  I just hope I have a spot come Monday morning.

Starting today my shared expenses with Mom went up.  We discussed it earlier in the week and so today it went into effect.  We discussed earlier in the week that 30% of my income should be going to the shared expenses.  I am willing to do this.  I just have to remember that from now on.  I also paid her the money from the car repair from last month.

The Convention went very well and very quick.  Linda S was the temporary chairperson and we voted in the permanent chair and the secretary and then we went through the nominations and acceptance speeches.  Mom did very well with her nomination speeches.  The entire proceeding took less then half an hour.  We went to the Stone Bridge for wings and pasta.  I was there until 7:30 I guess.  I gave a contribution to the DTC.  Mike asked if I could be on standby for the final night of the State convention and so it looks like I might be going.

I got a Facebook friend request from Jamie sometime today.  He spelled the Phelan name wrong so I wasn’t sure if it was him but I see that Mom, Kristina, Emily, and Liz have all added him as a friend so it was legit.

Well even though I had six cups of coffee this morning I think I am going to try and get some sleep.  I really need it.

Anyway with the unofficial start to summer in two weeks I was thinking about this what is planned for the summer?

Well for the most part I will be working and perhaps most Saturdays unless something comes up.  We have at least three holidays coming up that we will have off.  Memorial Day, Independence Day (usually the Friday before or the Monday after depending on where it lands in the weekend.  If the holiday actually lands on during the work week then we get that day off).  Of course we then have Labor Day off.

Activities with the family will probably include picnics, parties, and swimming (at Mike and Cheryl’s).  The Pennsylvania branch of the family has been invited to come up and stay with Bob and Ethel after their camp.  Although I am not sure if that will happen because it sounded like they have a full schedule of their own. 

I might go down for a weekend to visit Jim and Joe even if the kids are away.  That reminds me need to get their summer camp address again so I can write them (or attempt it.  It really didn’t work well last year).

On the Volunteer front the woman’s club will be finishing up for the spring in June.  We have two more meetings and we have the Creative Writing contest reception next week.  We will probably have a few graduation parties and birthday parties for the girls who are graduating and of course for Jolyn’s son Steven and for Ted. 

I am willing to bet by the end of the summer we will start preparing for the 2010-2011 season with a board meeting or two.  I am thinking there will be some membership drives of some type and probably some social activities.

On the political front well that should be very interesting.  Over the next three or four weeks will be conventions for the various offices on the state and local levels.  We have our awards dinner this Thursday.  We will be finding new methods of fundraising since we have dropped out of the Annual Oyster festival this year (long story). 

I suspect there will be plenty of meet and greets for the various candidates and I have a feeling by September Mom will be planning the one we have here every year. 

In between all that I will be going to Doctor’s appointments, exercising, the movies and probably out to dinner on occasion with friends and family.

All in all I think it will be just as active as last year.  I remember I didn’t really write a lot in this journal last year.  I am not going to let that happen this year.

She spent most of the day cleaning, shopping and getting her haircut.  She got it cut a couple of days ago from our regular hair salon and the woman destroyed it.   Carmen has now lost two customers and from what Mom said she was completely unprofessional.  She best not come to me for anything or her ass is grass.

Okay the crew called it will be another hour before they get here.  Mom is trying to figure out what they want on the pizza.  It sounds like she will have them call again to let us know when they get closer so she can order the pizza.

Work went well got a lot done.  Bob and Cece picked me up after 7:30 and we were at the office just before 8.  We laughed and joked about a lot of stuff.  My godchild Heddie was bitten on the ear at a puppy park last week but she handled herself quite well.

I heard from Kristin Becker and she said everything is good.  The Fibroids are not a concern and unless I get really bad back pains they are not going to do anything.  Now I just have to schedule my mammogram.

Now that it is just before 10.  Jim is sleeping, Joe is talking to Mom about things in general (they were discussing restaurant choices for tomorrow) and the kids are all watching TV.  I believed Joe when he said the kids were going outside to camp (its about 50 degrees right now) out.  The sleeping arrangements are as such.  The girls get Mom’s room; the boys are sleeping in the blue room.  Jamie has a sleeping bag.  Mom wants to the sofa.

 While I was at the pizza place getting the pizza I ran into Joe’s Brother Bob.  I didn’t tell him Joe was on his way here.  It just didn’t feel right.  I know that if my siblings were living out of state and didn’t let me know they were coming to town I would feel a little hurt.

Well there is a long day ahead of me and I still have to take care of laundry before anyone else gets up and I want to take a walk tomorrow before the house wakes up.
